LVT throughout bungalow or keep carpets in the bedrooms?

So, we are currently doing house renovations. Have decided on LVT flooring/and or quickstep laminate through the lounge, kitchen/diner and hallway. DH wants the LVT/laminate in both bedrooms too but I would prefer to keep the (perfectly nice and fairly new) carpets in there. The carpets are neutral beige so would go and not look odd or anything with the LVT.

What would you do/have done?

LVT throughout or keep the bedrooms with carpets.

For context, we are in a 2 bedroomed bungalow.

Thanks

I agree with you carpet is nice in bedrooms. We’ve renovated our bungalow after moving in just over a year ago. Feels nice underfoot when you get up.

We now have Karndean in the bathroom, hall and kitchen. The back room already had good LVT which we’ve left.
We carpeted the lounge when we did in there
( replacement) and will have carpet in the bedrooms when we decorate them.

Quickstep throughout. I'm a convert. It looks good, it's easy to keep clean. It has some texture to it and some give. Feels cooler in hot weather too.

I'm definitely a carpet in the bedroom sort of person, it's just feels cosier and softer. I think hard flooring throughout an entire house can look a bit barsh/clinical and personally reminds me of flats I've rented in the past which were all laminate flooring and magnolia walls.

I have LVT downstairs and I love it. I would put LVT in every room including bedrooms, OP. You can put down nice rugs in rooms. Plus, if you want to change colour scheme in a room, it's easy to get a new rug to go with it. Also, the cleanliness aspect - so easy to keep floors clean with LVT.

If your carpets are good I would save money and keep them.

I'm not a fan of LVT in living or bedrooms, but imo it's preferable to carpet!

We've previously had LVT in bathrooms, a hallway and one - small - kitchen, but only ever put engineered flooring in living spaces (when we had to raise the floor to match the height of an adjoining room).

If you go with LVT in the bedrooms - and I do think in a bungalow it would make sense to have continuity of flooring - I'd bring in some large area rugs.

The bedrooms in our current home - and the previous few houses - have floorboards we've painted, but these are overlaid with huge rugs to give a cosiness underfoot. Same with the living spaces...we have a lot of rugs, lol!

LVT throughout except for my room which is carpeted. My little boy is a full time wheelchair user who is hoisted (we had mobile hoists until overhead tracking went in) and chairs/hoists and carpets don't mix. I have washable rugs down so that outdoor dirt can easily be washed off, we can't leave his wheelchair at the front door in the same way I can leave my shoes there.

I would probably keep the newish carpets as I hate adding to landfill!

We’ll be doing LVT everywhere but bedrooms which will be biscuit/oatmeal carpet.

Bedrooms should have carpets. When we redecorated i insisted that everything upstairs except the bathroom was carpeted. We have laminate in the lounge and hall, tiles in the kitchen and carpet on stairs, landing and all three bedrooms
