I'm in a housing authority bungalow and have had a problem with damp for a while now. Humidity goes up after heavy or prolonged rain. Some rooms have higher relative humidity than others so it isn't just the damp climate seeping in as they try to tell me. I think it's water ingress from the roof as damp spots are on the ceilings next to the exterior walls. Housing send repair people who give a quick look and say everything is ok.
From my own investigations I have found that the damp spots seem to correspond with the position of the roof block vents. I was just looking at mine and comparing them to next door. It looks like I have no flashing. A sort of mesh is visible and it sits below where the flange of the vent is screwed or bolted on. You might be able to make it out from the pic.
I'd be so grateful if someone who knows about these things could tell me if the vents look ok or compromised. Before we moved in it was a grow house so I wonder if the "gardeners" might have disturbed the vents to aid their cultivation.
