Empty house for sale.

If you were looking for a house would it put you off if the photos showed empty rooms?

we are moving into another property (inherited) so could ‘dress’ our current house for photos but it will be an absolute pain to do so, so we are considering selling it empty. It will be down as ‘no chain’ so I’m hoping buyers will be ok with that.

what are your thoughts?

I’d see it as a positive.

We bought our previous and current houses when both were empty (both were rented then tenants vacated then put up for sale) and it didn’t put us off in the slightest.

Sounds like it doesn’t matter but when I tried to sell my parents house, which was empty and looked soulless, the offers I got were cheeky, one being over £100k below asking (it was on for £575k) The estate agent feedback said the buyers thought we were desperate to sell as it was empty. We did want to sell it but we weren’t that desperate.
We decided to stage the house in the end as we weren’t getting anywhere and ended up with £35k over asking- it looked amazing. This was in a buyers market too. I’d never try and sell empty again.

No, its actually beneficial to leave it empty. Only though if your priced competitively. Its mostly about price at the moment. Get that right and you will have a buyer quickly. Get it wrong and you will join half of rightmoves listings languishing unsold.

Our current house was empty. Actually encouraged me to view as indicated they would be able to complete quickly and potentially be willing to accept a lower offer.
