Been 'dumped' by the seller of the house I'm buying

I just found the house I'm buying being re-marketed on RightMove by a different estate agent

A few weeks ago the seller's told us they had split from their estate agent but it wouldn't affect the sale - we have paid for searches, survey etc all going OK - a bit slow maybe, but houses aren't fast & the purchase depends on 2 sales (both progressing ok but i lost my first sale and had to get a new one, which I did within a week)

Then a friend said they saw 'my' house online and I checked - the estate agent didn't know it had an offer on it (or that it had been on before) & my solicitor is bemused and ringing round to find out what is going on

I think I've been dumped! 😟

Definitely inform the first estate agent that she’s relisted with another agent. Both agents can claim fees from her (if she ever sells)

This happened to us and they got another offer and then out us into “race to contract” we also had to match the new bid, which we did then asked for money off again at exchange. They told the other buyer we guzumped them which we didn’t which made it awkward in a small community where everyone knows each other (was literally at a party with them last week and still slightly frosty).

I reckon she’s told the first EA that you’ve pulled out, thinking that she’ll get away with not paying their fees. Then she thought maybe she’d get a higher offer from someone else with the second EA. She was probably planning on ditching them in the same way to avoid paying any estate agent fees at all, and try to get a bidding war going between you an a second buyer too. She’s nuts! She also sounds the type to take every lightbulb, toilet seat, fitted carpet, and radiator in the house with her when she finally moves out. You’ve definitely dodged a bullet, and both EAs should be told what she’s up to.
