Like in the picture attached.

Is this better than just having the bed side on to to a normal single rectangular window at normal height.

What are the pros and cons of putting windows in that 'frame' the bed this way'. Anyone have this ? I wonder would you get more or less light? would it be brighter on your pillow in mid summer at 5am? Would condensation be any different?

by the way, not talking about a huge room, more like a 3.3 by 3.3 square

This is how I now have my room after thirty plus years with it another way round. Not sure why it took so long but I love it. If you are concerned about light etc get black out curtains.

Well I looks lovely in the photo. But you wouldn’t be able to look out the window from in bed so that would be a no from me if no other window

Regarding light, that need not be an issue with correctly fitting blackout curtains/blinds.

A lot would depend on the orientation of the windows. We have east facing windows in our bedroom that wake us up early in the morning in summer.

Personally vertical blinds make me think of offices.

Great for reading in bed in the daytime.
I like it because I love fresh air at night, but the windows would need good blinds, like any bedroom window. Can't see a problem with condensation.

yeah, it would be a north west facing. I think it would look interesting in a good way from outside too, like a nice symmetrical feature sat above a ground floor sliding door. On a budget, so hard to incorporate any architectural interest really so this might be an affordable way to do so. I realise it would cost a bit more than a single window but not massively so.
