Looking for advice and sorry for long post
*Had a fan fitted in kitchen also that gives no issues, so if house humidity was high this would go off but doesn't unless cooking/washing.
Just had a extractor fan fitted( goes on when humidity reaches a certain level) in the bathroom. (Under a Government scheme)
Its a fairly large bathroom( old bathroom and large cupboard made into 1)
1st fan didn't take excess water away, so was replaced.
2nd fan wouldn't stop and 8 hours later was still battering away on full although the bathroom by this time was dry. - it should go onto trickle when humidity is down.
Guy came back and switched the fan to change the humidity from 70 to 85%.- so it would stop quicker.
So it now stops after an hour and goes onto trickle, but walls/floor/ shower are still wet- to some degree . They should be dry .
Im no expert, so looking for somebody that knows.
The Government states humidity should be under 70 to inhibit mold
I argued this with the installer that increasing the vent to 85 is way above where it should be, but he just said that's it basically.
The fan has a 25L per second flow( if installed direct to wall, but mine has maybe 2m of piping to outside wall so a lot lower.
Company says its above the 13L per second the Government state.
My bathroom is 11ft x 10ft.
Obviously its concerning that my humidity is sitting at 85% now.
We dont and have never had an issue with mould. We usually keep the house well ventilated.
it also states in handbook not to open windows( it works better) . So Im now sitting with a damp bathroom for hours unless I open the windows , which defeat the purpose and not viable in winter so much.
Anyone anything to help.
Thanks
