Bumps in lath and plaster ceiling

Lath and plaster ceiling,

These bumps are all over the ceiling!

We have wallpaper on the ceiling

I'm told these kind of ceilings can collapse with no warning at all :/

I'm bloody petrified!

I'm scared me and my children will just be sat here and then the ceiling collapses on us!

Anyone have any experience with lath and plaster ceilings and why these bumps have appeared?

He's coming back Friday to have a closer look at the ceiling :/

After my son passed my anxiety is crazy

I'm so anxious about the ceiling collapsing on my little one

I have linear cracks in the lathe and plaster ceilings of my 1930s house. It's where the stone hearths are for the fireplaces upstairs (although the upstairs fireplaces have been blocked up).
They have been there since I moved in 26 years ago and haven't fallen on me yet....

This is one of my ceilings, lath and plaster with woodchip paper over. I've poked it and it's solid, lime is magical stuff and can self-heal. 200yo house, been here 16y, no plans to remove the woodchip!
