Planning on getting AC fitted in the bedroom for hot summer nights when my bedroom can reach 30 deg. Any tips, advise, possible cost? Much mess?
TIA

Sorry not sure on the costs but more to say if it’s too expensive, then we got a free standing unit for about £300 and it works really really well.

Thanks, but no I didn’t want a freestanding unit

I don’t know about costs for one room as we had a more extensive system fitted a few years ago but the disruption was minimal. Just a bit of dust from where they made the hole in the wall.

About £2k assuming straightforward and done in a few hours.

Brilliant that’s about what I had thought.

Boxt will show you costs and options as a starting point, worth an online quote just to compare with others.

Just had it done in two bedrooms yesterday, cost £2800 , and well worth every penny. But exact cost will depend on how much electric cabling etc is needed and location of external fan etc.

Thanks. Yes there is power to the bedroom wall it will be fitted on and not a great distance to the ext. Fan.

I think we will get it fitted in our next house for one bedroom so interesting to see the cost comparisons on here. Better get saving!

Last year we paid £2860 for two units one in bedroom one in lounge both with their own external fans. They are great and well worth it. Can also use them as heaters if ever needed. We have solar panels so they aren’t expensive to run.

So they're air to air heat pumps?

I have just booked to have one installed in my bedroom. Total cost £1800, Herts / Beds area.
Have a portable one which is fine but far too loud to sleep with, hence getting proper AC installed which is 19DB at its quietest vs the jet engine currently in my room!

I’m going Mitsubishi as the quieter of them all

We have Mitsubishi heavy industries SRK35ZS-WF and they are really quiet. Forgot to say installation didn’t cause much mess or disruption. We just had to clear the stuff that was underneath where it was going. They needed an internal socket to plug it into not to far away from the external unit (or we had to get an electrician to come and do all the wiring for them) and it’s handy if there is a drain near to the outside unit for it to drain into. I think they were here about a day to do them both. The outside units are pretty ugly. We got them put on the side of the house.
