Anyone have a recommendation? I got some samples and they look cheap!

Unfortunately, cheaper composite boards tend to have a very "flat" plastic look. The more natural-looking ones usually have a deeper grain and mixed colour tones with a less shiny finish. Millboard is probably the closest to real timber imo, or you can look into Trex ranges. The prices would be higher but the overall look would also be much nicer, especially in texture. If possible, I'd suggest looking at larger samples outside and in daylight, since pretty much everything looks worse under indoor lighting. Also if you want to picture the whole look before getting anything, something like https://gardenbox3d.com/ or www.trex.com/build-your-deck/planyourdeck/deck-designer/ could be useful. You can test colour palettes and see how everything works together visually.

Thanks. I agree about Millboard and Trex. But they are SO expensive. Maybe I'll stick to IPE wood
