How to clean a Burlington toilet pan without damaging the finish

My parents recently moved to a bungalow which has a fairly new Burlington bathroom. My parents would like to keep the suite, if possible, but the pan is a bit grubby looking and could do with a good clean. Does anybody on here know whether there is any particular cleaning product they would have to use to achieve this or whether a normal supermarket toilet cleaner would be sufficient? They have half a bottle of Harpic Power Plus at home and were asking if it would be okay to squirt that down the toilet and leave overnight. Thanks.

We put a whole bottle of the black harpic in one loo, and the dark blue one in the other and left overnight. Worked a charm to remove years of yucky brown timescale.

Sorry, I meant to say it was blue Harpic.

Well the Burlington website says 'soft cloth with warm soapy water or cream cleaner' - nothing harsh as they have a 'NanoGlaze' coating to keep them cleaner! Stubborn stains should be treated with vinegar, lemon juice or a non abrasive cream cleaner. They also say only mild toilet cleaners designed for porcelain but stress the no bleach, no harsh abrasives etc. Sounds totally unsuitable for a toilet really!

Sodium PERCARBONATE not bicarb.
or Citric Acid

as somebody above says, vinegar or lemon. Both acids. If it’s really bad citric acid can be stronger or diluted as required

Battery acid and a wire brush.

Wire brush will scratch the enamel. You can use a green plastic pan scourer.

I find Flash Bathroom Cleaner spray very good at removing limescale, including grey or green staining resulting from pipe corrosion that sinks into it.

You can spray it round and under the rim when you remember before going out or to bed. I probably do it about twice a week and it doesn't need scouring.
