Range cooker fit- a cautionary post (pics)

I bought a Stoves induction range to replace a Rangemaster one.

When I pushed it right to the wall I realised that the side-opening doors could not swing open.
So the range has to sit a few cm out from the cabinet run. Not an issue in itself but it left a gap between the wall and the stove that I had to pay someone to fill in with a custom-cut piece of metal. It annoys me every time I look at it!

The Rangemaster that it replaced also had side-opening doors. I suppose that the lesson learned is that if you are putting a range into a brand new kitchen you need to allow for a few cm either side of the cabinets. The gaps at the side can be covered by worktop. But I was replacing an existing range with what I thought was a standard-sized new one.

I can’t help feeling a bit annoyed at Stoves.

That sounds very frustrating OP, I wouldn't have thought to look at how the doors opened.
