Mid-range kitchen showrooms with design service and repaintable units

Just this. I know about DIY Kitchens, but I struggle to come up with my own ideas, so I need someone to design it for me and make suggestions.

I prefer to go into a showroom and browse and speak to someone working there who will then design for me and we go back and forth until I’m happy.

Im also a bit of a magpie and attracted to pretty things, and I like so so many things, so I’d like the ability to repaint it after say ten years and have a new look to it. I’ve only just realised that having foil finish cabinets doesn’t allow me to do this. It’s the first time I’ve ever put in a kitchen so it’s all a big learning curve for me.

We can spend a fair bit more than you would at DIY Kitchens, but a lot less than at somewhere like Tom Howley, so I’m guessing that we sit in the mid range category.

I really like this range http://www.1909kitchens.co.uk/kitchens/shaker www.1909kitchens.co.uk/kitchens/shaker]]]] as I like the coving, mix of tall and wall/floor units and panelling in the islands ends, but it is a foil finish which looks smart but doesn’t give me the flexibility to change it with a coat of paint at a later date.

Any suggestions of ranges or manufacturers would be much appreciated!

We have just bought with Kautchenhouse and have found them fab so far, and really like what they designed. It hasn't been fitted yet, but the design process was really good :)

Handmade kitchens of Christchurch, very reasonable price in their twice yearly 50% off sale, have a look at their gallery of real kitchens on their website

You do have to paint it yourself, but we paid a professional. It’s looks amazing. I looked at Tom Howley, Neptune, Devol etc and it compares well. Was about £11k for a big kitchen with pan drawers, pantries etc

the handmade kitchens of Christchurch website is an eye opener! Wow, they have some really lovely looking things in their ranges and so much choice. The top 50 customer kitchens is so good for inspiration too.

I’d need to find someone to install it, as they don’t do that, but I’d imagine there’s loads of people local to me who would do that.

I’ve signed up to be told about the next sale! Thanks so much.

The German kitchens company has a showroom very local to me. Unfortunately don’t like the small range of colours that they offer, so that limits me.

Another vote for Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch. We used them at our last house in Wales (2018) and fitted/painted the cabinets ourselves. Their prices compared very favourably to other similar looking kitchens.

We used Essex based Handmade Kitchen Co for two previous kitchens in 2008 and 2012. Again we fitted and painted the kitchens as we're handy that way. What I liked about theirs compared to Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch was that they had a pull-out drawer beneath the Belfast sink instead of cupboard doors.
