Boring question about baths

I need to have my shower at one end of the bath and the waste as far away as possible - preferably in the middle so you can still use the other side to lie back in

is there a bath tub that could facilitate this?!?! All the double ended ones I can find are too slopey at what will be the tap/ shower end. And all the single ones have the waste at one end, which also won’t work. Aaargh!! Is there any solution to this?

Are you looking for an L or P shape or does it need to be straight?

Can you explain a bit why you need the shower at one end & the waste as far away as possible?

My shower & waste are at the same end & it's been fine for over a decade.

I’ve never known a shower over a bath that hasn’t had the waste at the same end. In fact, most baths have the waste below the taps. Why do you want it somewhere different?

YukkatoYukka · 01/05/2026 23:47

I know it’s weird - the builder has advised this because of the layout of the house and the fact that the waste has too far to drain if it’s at the shower end. This has caused multiple problems including a very substantial leak.

We can’t move the shower as there is a window at the other end of the bath and not enough room for the shower. So what I want is a single ended bath with the waste in the middle, so that it drains more easily but I can still use it as a bath at one end and a shower at the other.

bit angular, but something like this @YukkatoYukka?

When we had the bathroom redone at our last house we had the bath drain at the opposite end to the shower, worked very well. The slope was minimal (almost indistinguishable) but water drained freely without pooling.
In addition, we had no taps as such. The thermostatic tap control was built into the wall and the bath filled from a water outlet / overflow combo. Made for very clean lines.

Wow, I think that might be the one! Thank you!
