Well in garden

We bought our 1960s house nine years ago and subsequently found it used to have a well in the back garden, it was discovered about 40 odd years ago. The house sits on a plot where a large Victorian villa used to be. I’ve never really thought about it but We are going to sell next year and I’m just wondering, do I need to mention it, I don’t want to put of prospective buyers!! It’s not a large house or garden. It’s covered in grass now and has a plum tree on it but if you’re digging there and dig about ten or so inches you can feel the concrete.

It won't put people off, it's a strong sales point that most people would love to make a feature of.

So filled in? No danger if crashing through it accidentally? If not don't mention it. The fact it is on the site of an old villa is interesting and could be mentioned in passing.

You don’t need to mention anything when selling a house, only honestly answer anything you get asked. So long as the well is safe and there’s no danger of someone falling down it, you don’t need to mention.

Ah it’s all cemented in now has been for the last four years and now covered in grass and tree. No chance of falling in 😊

then if the well has been capped to a (reasonable) safe standard it is irrelevant
