Buying a family home in london

We’re a family of four with two kids primary and secondary school aged moving from south west.

We looking to move and buy into safe area, decent hight street , and outstanding senior schools, is one of our main priorities.

Work hybrid 3 times a week. So up to 1 hour commute with good transport links would be ideal.

We not looking to move again due to schools, so ideally an excellent area where we can potentially buy a house future with the budget if 650k~

Would really appreciate any suggestions or experiences from people who’ve been through a similar move and bought in London

OP if you come back it would be useful to know if you are expecting to maintain links with family/friends remaining in the SW.

That particular trek is one I’m very familiar with and choice of location within the M25(ish) can make a massive difference to your future travels.

Techincally they are in London but they are suburbs. If I wanted to live in London I wouldn't choose suburbs, personally

I live in z3 was raised in z2/3, definitely the suburbs. Don’t understand the angst about the suburbs tbh.

Opposite end of Met line to Liverpool street are Amersham/Chesham - grammar school options. Prices have gone up so not sure what will be in budget.
I'm not sure about the schools but in London, W13/W7 are on Elizabeth line and lots of parks. Your budget would get you a fixer-upper so still a stretch....
