Under oven drawer kitchen unit compatible with a Wren kitchen. Mixing and matching suppliers

Can you mix kitchen cupboards from different suppliers, to suit your layout? I've chosen a Wren kitchen and want a drawer for my baking trays under the oven. Assumed this was a basic design but they've said they don't do them! Is it as simple as choosing an oven housing unit from a different supplier, and buying a Wren drawer front?

Am I missing something? Are they all compatible? Apart from Ikea who have different measurements.

Is this one that sits right at the bottom in the plinth? Your joiner should be able to fit any similar sized drawer and cut the plinth to use as a front.

Oh, I didn't realise it was that simple, thank you.

Maybe the person didn't understand the requirement?

If I understand correctly, you've got a larder unit that houses the integrated oven and you want some drawers under the oven instead of a cupboard? That should be very simple and something they offer. Just tell them you don't want the cupboard door and do want 4x 200mm drawers or 2x 200mm and 1x 400mm.

Drawers are more expensive than cupboards, so I'm sure they'll be happy to upsell.

No. I've not said anything about a larder. I'm talking about a basic cupboard which houses an oven, and usually a hob on top. You can get them with one drawer under the oven which is large enough to store baking trays etc. That's what I want. That drawer.

Wren don't make a unit like that. Most kitchen suppliers do.

So you have a single oven that doesn’t fill the whole height of the base unit and wish to use the spare space under it for a drawer? I guess wren probably sell a cover panel to fit this space. So you could use that as a drawer front. I would think you could buy a shallow kitchen drawer box and runners from elsewhere and it would be fine but check the actual width of the cabinet and thickness of its walls when comparing.

Do you mean like this? I reckon you just need a filler panel from Wren for the front and then the plinth cut out for below. A good joiner should be able fit this.

If you buy a drawer front, your kitchen fitter should be able to fit it. You'd need to fit a piece of wood on either side for the drawer runners to attach to. The wood for the runners could be attached to the bottom of the neighbouring units.

Thank you! Didn't realise screwfix did drawers too.
