New nightmare neighbour

My new neighbour seemed nice introduced herself I bough her a small welcome plant. However I am now getting regular letters about my trees fence etc which are mildly threatening stating I need to remove my trees to make our properties. safe, She has has a poor surveyors report that comes back that the house has poor drainage and is damp which according to her its due to me ditto her garden again has moisture which is down to me. though there are many trees in the vicinity including some of hers I have agreed a compromise giving her permission to reduce the tree height professionally, but I think she will see it as a green light to get all of her demands met. I should say another neighbour badly cut a tree right into my garden with a chain saw and killed it so I really don't want a repeat.
Reading between the lines she bought a house that has been minimally maintained and is regretting it. and likes to blame me having lived in my house 35 years I know those issues are decades old and common in old houses will cellars

The trees barely over look the garden or the house as they have been cut back over the years and I am not being difficult, I am protecting my property. In a terrace we each have a responsibility for our fence on my left and on her right hand fence is mine, so its my decision on style. The left hand is hers so I cannot dictate the style, nor would I seek to.(unlike her I might add)

She can’t change the fence on the boundary line if you own the boundary
She can of course put an adjacent panel fence on her side of the boundary

I think you are right but I think causing no injury to the tree might be the key here and also the fact we are practically in a wood here, so tracing which tree might be moot. I was also highlighting the fact that the damage she is saying might be caused is to a structure too far away.

Well if you were a reasonable person I would have said, that there were options, that she replant some kind of plants that screened the area before she or the previous owner chopped them down of she would use plants in pots or a lower fence with trellis . I should also say I have flowering shrubs in my side, (not right next to the fence and roses that once in leaf and flower they do provide cover. If she wanted a double fence then aesthetically it wouldn't bother me, but I really care about having enough decent light for my fruit trees my soft fruit and flowers that I like to exhibit at local shows and of course a small area of grass for the GP's

no I inherited a mature tree. All the trees which are small I managed

why would I pay to someone to destabilise my tree. If she wants to cut back the branches further, there are very few lower branches she can get on with it. Although I haven't heard more today she is the kind of person who makes demands and will not compromise entirely unsuited to terrace living. My neighbours on the other side who are renters are at times noisy, have a reactive dog and have 3 trees that over hang. Sometimes I find it mildly annoying but I just prefer not start wars with someone who I live next door to.

Trees are good for drainage and removing them will cause more problems.

if you like your trees then keep them. She bought her house knowing your trees were there and she’s BU to expect you to change for for her.

Dear Batshit ndn. I've emailed God and he'll do his best not to rain on your property..
Then delete and block.
She's nuts.
