Best Isle of Man areas for young families and primary schools?

Hello!
just wondering if anyone can offer any advice, after listening to my Mum talk about her childhood holidays on the Isle of Man and how she would have loved to live there one day, it’s got me wondering whether it could be an option for our young family.
My mum has sadly passed and so I can’t ask her but does anyone here live/lived on the Island and have any advice with regards areas best suited for young children (with a good primary school) please? We will check all areas out but good to have a couple that are recommended! We love the outdoors and the beach. Thank you in advance

If you want to live in a place like a retro time machine from the 80s pick anywhere the IoM.

You won't be able to work normally either because it's not the UK.

Good if you want to avoid taxes or set up a dodgy online casino though.

It’s a beautiful Island, most areas are good for families and the schools are generally very good too.

You need to come and look around and look at house prices and work options to see if it would suit you. You will need a work permit to work here so that is something you should check out.

Income tax is generally better than the uk as well so it’s worth doing the sums to see if it would be a good option for your family.

It’s a small island and comparatively a lovely safe place to bring up children but it does have its drawbacks in the cost of living being higher due to the additional cost of getting things delivered here and high house prices (although that depends on where you are moving from).

It can feel isolating when you need to get to family or they need to get to you from the mainland. Plus the cost of travel to and from is not to be ignored. If you are going on holiday it is perfectly normal here to have to fly out the day beforehand and stay in a hotel the night before because the island can so easily be cut off if the fog comes down and the planes can’t land or take off.

However I don’t regret moving here and I’ve been here for 25 years now.

Thank you, this is really helpful, all of these things have been taken into account as we have 3 young daughters and really want to make it work 🤞
we have booked to fly over and have a look around next month, hoping we will fall in love with it too.
