Which tiles should I go with?

Planning a smallish ensuite shower room with large rectangular shower, loo and basin. Planning white, slightly pearlescent metro tiles in the shower and found these floor tiles which I love.

We want to tile the walls up to the ceiling and the question is which tiles should I have on the walls? I'm thinking a complementary blue but can't find what might work and not sure if paler would be better?

Floor tiles : would go with pattern in first picture.

I would say paler, or even white. It's usually recommended to go lighter the higher up you go away from a darker, stronger base. Apparently it makes the space look larger.

Why dont you do the whole room in the shower metro tiles?

I dont think 3 different tiles in one small room is necessary.

The metro tiles are the really skinny ones so wasn't sure they would look good on the walls.

I was considering these light blue tiles for the wall but maybe I should rethink and go for a white or really pale blue.

DIY experts say use big wall tiles in a small space, which is what we did in our tiny bathroom..big white ripple effect, just one line of mosaic pearly white over the bath vertically..

I’ve got dark green skinny metro tiles in my small en-suite and they look amazing and don’t make the space feel small or dark at all. They are glossy and bounce light round.

And no, it’s perfectly easy to keep clean and no watermarks.

I only tiled the left wall fully and 3/4 of the back wall behind the shower, rest is light paint, which helped.

I did the big pale tiles in my small main bathroom and honestly I think my en-suite looks bigger 🤣

I say have what makes you smile, it’s you living with it.
