Any suggestions on my kitchen

Hello lovely mumsnetters,

I just finished designs for our new kitchen and would appreciate your input please. We're extending hence ripping out old one.

So from the left; the first set of double doors open up into a (hidden) utility, second set of doors are an inbuilt fridge, third set of doors open into a (hidden) walk-in pantry. Next is a follows a corner cupboard with I'm planning to make into a breakfast station. Next is microwave and oven, electric hob in the middle and on the left sink centred under a window overlooking the garden. Pull out bins and dishwasher also on the left. Cabinet colour will be ivory/ white and handles brass. Worktop and splashback also white (ceramic/quartz )

Island in the middle will be white oak with a white (ceramic/quartz)worktop with drawers on one side and seating on the other.

Flooring will be white oak as well.

Any suggestions for improvement welcome.

Thank you.

You need worktop next to your oven, for when you get things out of the oven. You could do with your sink closer to your hob, for when you need to drain vegetables etc. I would ditch some cupboards and have pan drawers.

One thing I'd definitely change is only having 2 upper cupboards to the right of the hob & moving the hob over to centre it & give you more counter top near the oven.

I'd definitely look at the positioning of the island & the seating to maximise the view of the outside. But if this is a. Extension I'd put the eating area down the end with table & French doors to the garden

have you seen the actual door handlers & cupboard doors together? It's a personal thing, but I don't like brass on white/ivory.

and again, it's a personal thing, but I HATE (with a passion) corner cupboards with tgat angle. I'd rather lose a tiny bit of cupboard space & not have the angled door.

IMO it's a dreadful idea to make a corner unit a 'breakfast area'.

Double check the designers haven't put any drawers in front of a gas meter or similar. Fortunately I noticed this on one design as the gas meter had been a PITA to design around (and too expensive to movs).

I understand that you haven’t built the extension yet? I’d like more windows to look out of and bring the outside in.

@OhDear111 if its a choice over an inherently dangerous design, and changing something now before the kitchen is installed so that the layout is safer, I know what I'd do. You can't really think that it's an ideal layout, surely? When so many other people have pointed out how potentially dangerous it is?
