Bathroom with no MDF / chipboard?

The vast majority of bathroom units seem to be made of cheap covered MDF or some kind of chipboard or fibreboard. In a bathroom this seems like insanity because as soon as water makes its way inside - the units will start to expand and blow.

I'm trying to avoid this but it is extremely difficult. Are my only options stainless steel (can't really find anything) or engineered wood (very £££!)?

Does everyone just accept that their bathroom units won't last longer than a few years?

I avoided it by going down the vintage route and buying wooden furniture and repurposing it. So I have a sideboard which I had converted into a double sink unit.

What do you mean by bathroom units? A vanity undersink cupboard? Or more general
storage cupboards? If something is wall hung there’s no particular reason water would get inside. I can definitely see the risk with something going down to the floor though.

Tikamoon has quite a big range made of solid wood, not sure if they are within your budget?

Sorry I am mostly talking about a vanity under sink cupboard. The vanity unit in our utility is just a cheap chipboard core and water splashing down the side of the sink has caused it to blow. Wouldn't have made a difference if it was wall hung or not.

Tikamoon looks amazing! But sadly very expensive.
