Indoor Security Camera

I wonder if anyone can help as I’ve just started looking for home security, I think I orignally posted in the wrong thread - so feel free to remove previous post Admin.

I don’t know if this exists but I just need an indoor camera pointing at my front door. I live in a shared block and we can't have doorbell cameras.

Something I can activate when going out, linked to my phone that will give alerts if someone enters the property and then record. Chimes/Alarm sounds or lights would also great – but I’m not sure if these exist. Not to sure about wifi so would like a plug in camera preferably without subscription.

Any personal recommendations on Ring, Efuy, SimpliSafe or Tapo. Would I need a new phone as have heard about dual sim cards and SD cards.

I have SimpliSafe and it’s very easy to set up and works with my Alexa. However I needed a whole system. Given you don’t I would probably just buy a motion camera on Amazon.

no need for a new phone - cameras would be an app on your phone, nothing to do with a sim card!

I use a ring indoor camera for checking in on my dog. Works well. I live in a shared block but have a ring, no-one has ever complained. I got it for free or wouldn’t have bothered, am moving to a house soon so will be getting camera for the back too, most likely ring so all linked on the same plan.

We have Eufy cameras and can recommend.

I use Ring (doorbell, alarm, and security camera).

I have Tapo. 3 cameras inside, all set on windowsills pointing outside. You just plug them in, sync them to WiFi, download the Tapo app and that's it, you're away. You can set it to notify your phone if it detects movement. I don't pay anything but I think there's a subscription if you want more features.

We have indoor and outdoor Eufy cameras. No subscription and good pictures.

I use igeek battery cameras. The batteries last a couple of months depending on how much they are activated. The battery life is a bit less when they are outside in the cold in winter and longer in summer.

It means they don't need to be wired in.

They have a microphone, light and siren, night vision, various alert options are easy to set up and are cheap on Amazon (about £30).

Thank you for your replies. All of these companies have good reviews and a range of options, so i'm looking into all of them

We’ve got ring cameras front and back and one in our kitchen. We’ve also got sensors on the doors and windows. It’s a very simple system to set up and use.

Thanks @Nincompoo

It seems as if most systems use wifi and mine can be sketchy. Am now looking for something with a wired ethernet connection which is more reliable for me or a motion camera.
