Getting ready to put house on the market

Next house (new build) will be ready around September so making a start on getting ready to move, with obvious sale of this house in between times!

Ive cleared loft to extent there is now less than a quarter of the floor space occupied.

Garden tidy up will get done when weather improves.

Downstairs has been fully redecorated so just keeping on top of cleaning tidying there.

Hall, stairs, landing and 3 bedrooms to go!

Well done! Hopefully your sale will be swift and easy. I can recommend an amazing conveyancing solicitor who works with clients up and down the country. Location is not at all an issue. Let me know.
Something that added to my own viewings (people commented on it all the time) was leaving my diffuser running (I used Tisserand May Chang oil). The house always smelled lovely and I aired it out every morning and every evening. Lots of flowers in vases... fresh, open space, no clutter. Sometimes I made chocolate chip cookies for viewers and the estate agent to have (very American of me. I am originally a Yank but have been here 30 years). Just these small touches can help make viewings more memorable.
You're coming into a great season. And with the heaps of rain we've been having, your garden and/or any local greenery around, will look fabulous this spring when you've got people coming to view your property. Best of luck!

OMG. I feel your pain! I am contemplating either selling my house or renting it while I’m abroad for a year. But I have soooo much stuff and no storage. I mean literally - I have a small under stair space (the tallest bit has part of the fridge in it) and while I put in a tall cupboard in the kitchen to house the vacuum cleaner I bought a different brand and it doesn’t fit 😭! No loft space as it’s been converted. I put built in wardrobes in the bedrooms but that’s it. So I have a nasty corner with a three tier shoe rack, several empty boxes (for selling stuff on Vinted when I get to it) the vacuum cleaner and various bits that seem to acummulate. And I crochet so the living room has varios (crochet) baskets of yarn. I dread the process of putting this house in order for selling/renting!
And before it’s suggested I already have a big storage unit filled to the brim with boxes of Christmas decs, paintings, stuff. I go through it get rid of a box or two then it returns to it’s rammed condition. I moved from a house twice as big with a large storage room.

I hear you, OP. We're also preparing our house to put on the market too. Getting all those odd jobs done we've been putting off. Plus painting, tidying, donating, cleaning. I'm kind of enjoying the process although it does feel a bit relentless.

We're looking to move from NI back to England/the South West, we'll probably take that in stages - the market here is unpredictable so selling is the priority and then renting/moving in with family whilst we find the right next place. I'll be sad to say goodbye to our beautiful home here but equally I'm excited to see where we end up.

Garden is next on my list…patiently waiting for some better weather. Front is primarily driveway but it will get a good wash down along with door and windows. An old bench needs skipped and a good rake of under the hedge and that will be done.

Back garden has decking and furniture which I will power wash. All shrubs need tidying and will plant up planters fresh too.

Ha! Are you me? I have an identical To Do list. Waiting for the weather to change is making my teeth itch!
