Washable paint water-stained in bathroom

After one hot shower where DS failed to switch on the extractor fan, there are permanent streaks on the painted walls where condensation has dripped down. They literally look stripey now rather than plain white. The paint is a washable paint designed for kitchens and bathrooms. Should this have happened or does it sound faulty?

Any tips for removing would be very welcome!

I share your dilemma OP. My bathroom is downstairs and was an 'extension' to the house with no cavity wall. I have a dehumidifier plugged in that does wonders but it still leaves 'run marks' on the walls. Think I'll have to repaint in something darker.

Is tile the wall! It’s obviously a cold bathroom and that’s too much condensation. Put in a big towel rad.

@WeAreNotOk it’s actually the warmest room in the house! Fabulous underfloor heating in there. Usually the fan deals with the steam no problem, but this one long shower basically turned it into a steam room for a few minutes. Fully tiling would have added £££ to the cost sadly.

@WeAreNotOk sorry you have the same, but seems like it is a thing then. Might have to get a sign ‘switch the fan on or book yourself a day to paint the walls’!

we have this issue in a bathroom painted in dulux bathroom paint too. happened in both pink and grey. it doesn't show on white. i also find it annoying for a bathroom paint.

Our kitchen and bathroom are both painted with Dulux Trade Matt Diamond finish. No streaks or stains.
