Seven weeks after the blardy offer was accepted our cash buyer has pulled out. She gave a couple of "reasons" but we think it is just because she has realised that her money is better off in the bank than in property.
She's probably right but that doesn't help us much. AND she raised loads of pernickity queries with the solicitor AND she won't let us see the survey unless we pay.

So now we have to try to get another buyer in time to save our purchase. Is ANYONE buying at the mo?? I feel like giving up.

Same thing happened to me a month ago.

Have taken it off the market and reluctantly given up hope of moving for another year

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 13/06/2008 22:35

Commiserations SPS. Bummer isn't it?

Same thing happened to us middle of April on the day we were due to exchange

Put house straight back on market as didn't want to lose "dream house" that we were planning to buy. Had about 10 viewings since then with one ridiculous offer (about £30k below asking price!) which we obviously refused.

Only consolation is that "dream house" is also still on the market. Just nothing shifting out there at the moment.

It's an utter nightmare- really stressful so you have my sympathies.

I am actually looking into renting out my property and getting a second mortgage so that I am able to move!

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 13/06/2008 22:42

Yeah I thought about that but we have so much equity in the flat (which is good really) that we would never be able to move to a house without accessing that equity. Ah well, just have to be philosophical I guess.

We have dropped the asking price by £25k now as well.

It is so frustrating isn 't it?

What area are you in?
I'm in Brighton and things are dropping steadily but not as rapidly as predicted. Things are still selling down here though which is positive.

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 13/06/2008 22:48

We're in West London, looking to move ever so slightly further out so we can get house, good schools, the usual.

I am trying to sell at the moment, it is causing great stress. Hope you get someone else.

gemmiegoatlegs · 13/06/2008 23:44

this happened to us in april. We have now accepted an offer for 25 grand under the asking price. i am sick of being a homeowner and we are going to rent for a while and see what happens 9unless this one falls through of course )

beansprout · 14/06/2008 17:42

We are trying to move too - so miserable. So sorry to hear you have been let down.

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 14/06/2008 18:34

Hi Wohmum - Shepherds Bush, the nice bit not far from Ravenscourt Park. It's a big 2-3 bed garden flat with a cellar and 52' private garden - sound like it might suit? If so I'll post the link...
