Accepted offer from FTB but nothing has happened for 2 months. No surveys etc. They say it's the mortgage broker slowing things.

Anyone been in similar? Would you pull out and remarket?

I’m sorry you are going through this OP. It’s incredibly stressful.

It happened to us 10 years ago. Brexit. Our deal fell through that June morning, as so many others did. The problem was, we had already put an offer in on a house in Canada, with a very hefty deposit that we would lose if we pulled out.

We told the agents and solicitor - and it was not just an empty threat - that we would be pulling out and remarketing in 3 months if they couldn't meet our timings. Miraculously the previous buyers showed up again but with an offer 10% lower than before.

The English system of offers and acceptances not being binding is 100% bonkers.

@TheMateofOphelia you've been very patient but I don't suppose you've had much choice. We had this from the opposite side once, when we had to make a "best and final" offer on a flat. We won, but two months later we were still waiting for the sellers to contact our solicitors. We pulled out, explaining that we were in a hurry and didn't have the time to waste, the agents understood and were sympathetic. We discovered that the flat did eventually sell to the other person who'd made an offer, but they got significantly less than we would have paid.
I don't know if any places like yours are selling locally? If so I'd be tempted to change to a more successful agent and make it clear that you needed things to progress fast. My son had trouble selling his first house and gave it to another agent a year later, it actually sold to somebody who'd been interested the first time but he discovered that his original agent had discouraged them and recommended another offer which quickly fell through.
