Quietest boiler for open plan area?

i have to have my boiler replaced and moved to an alternative place. The most straightforward would be to a corner of the kitchen which would be fine - the space is available and it could be housed in a cabinet that would blend with the rest of the kitchen.
However, the kitchen is open plan to the living area (boiler would be about 15ft from the sofa/tv area) and I am worried that we will hear the firing up and down noises whilst we watch our intellectual, academic mind-improving tv shows (OK, Corrie and Traitors).
If you have this sort of set-up is the noise intrusive?
Can anyone recommend an especially quiet boiler?
I should say the boiler only supplies the heating to the house, not the hot water. And probably will be fitted by British Gas.

Ours is a standard combi boiler, I think it's a Vaillant, and in an open plan small terraced house. Yes I can hear it when it's fired up, but I can hear it upstairs as well, so I'm not really aware of it any more. It's just household noise.

We have a Worcester Bosch boiler, several years old, and if I'm standing nearby I am vaguely aware when it fires up, but it isn't an intrusive noise at all. I certainly wouldn't hear it above Corrie 😃

Watching with interest…we had to move boiler to accommodate extension, and it’s in my bedroom cupboard! It’s the only place it could be relocated to.

Years ago we gad a combi boiler in living room, it was very noisy so we put acoustic insulation into the cabinet which worked a treat.

We’ve also got a Worcester Bosch combi (two years old) - it seems quiet. Definitely quieter than my old one. And easily quieter than the dishwasher and washing machine.

Thanks all. I’ve been reading up and I think the Worcester Greenstar ones are amongst the quietest.
I’ve known this would be necessary for a couple of years but I’ve been ignoring it but BG say they won’t cover my existing boiler again once my Homecare runs out in the summer, so I’d better get it sorted. More expense…

How old is your boiler? You could get a service package elsewhere if BG won't cover it. Domestic and General or the manufacturer?

I have a Worcester combi, 4 years old and I’ve always been able to hear it- I was told it was ‘the quietest’, but my brother has just moved into a house with a Valiant and it is SILENT. It’s not even boxed in, and I genuinely do not hear it, when the heating is on or when I’ve run the hot tap (which it’s next to).

How old is your boiler? Does it even need to be replaced or could you just carry on? Put the money to one side for the day it needs swapped out.

I don't have any insurance for my 4yo boiler, it seems so pointless.

im fairly sure that if I leave it till the annual inspection/service, it will have the big red ‘DO NOT USE’ sign placed on it. It’s 14 years old and was installed in a somewhat unconventional (though not dangerous) place, where it’s received quite a bit of wear and tear it wouldn’t have otherwise. I’d rather be proactive and get it done whilst I have the time to consider the options.
Thanks for the Vaillant suggestion, I’ll look into those.
