This approx "£1000 per square metre" cost for extensions - is that per floor?

yep

S1ur · 09/06/2008 00:27

go with 1200 though and you'll have to really look around, youre not in london are you?

Tinker · 09/06/2008 00:29

Bummer

Not in London and had, sort of, guessed that £1000 might be conservative. Bummer again.

What would that include though? Finishing it off or just basic building costs before kitchen/bathroom/whatever (assuming that they are not overly lavish)?

include everything and finishing off irrc
so 3x5m squared floor area = bw 15000/18000

Right, well I found that living in a city the city builders quoted much higher than the smaller town nearby builders. so search further afield would be my suggestion

S1ur · 09/06/2008 00:42

Ahh now not including a bathroom or new kitchen I don't think. Just finishing off as in tidying up, plastering lick of paint sort of thing.

Tinker · 09/06/2008 00:46

Actually, when posted was thinking of square feet so metre squared seems a lot better now. Also, a chunk of it would be a garage - I don't suppose that would make a significant difference would it?

Mmmm don't know about difference. Probably a bit of a difference presumably if you didn't want plastering or flooring other tha concrete?

square metre yes yes. BIG dif

No, can keep that simple. Ooo, thank you, am feeling quite excited at the thought of it, not the actuality you understand

Oh, and forgot to check - is that 1000/1200 including VAT or not? [closes eyes in anticipation of the answer]

Thought I'd best answer you so you can stop walking into walls and such.

Fark knows about VAT, I think so though.

Slur.
