"My goodness if someone had left that house to me I'd be all over it."

@BasiliskStare OMG - same. House (when done up) and the location are the stuff of dreams.

I agree @LovesLabradors Sadly ( & I have looked down the back of the sofa ) I don't enough cash for even the renovations . But for someone who can afford that house ( and if auction it willl go for more ) plus the renovations to bring it up to a standard you would expect in that area - it would make a fabulous house. It would do me and no mistake.

Now, I know , I know, you could buy a much bigger house elsewhere with a big garden and a drive and garage and detached elsewhere for a fraction of the price. Obviously. But it's my sort of house. In a lovely area - can walk to everything. Which is sort of what I have , little terraced house , can walk to most things , but mine is on a much much lesser and cheaper scale.

And they still want £2.1m for it!!Shock

And with a shit bathroom & kitchen!

FullOfMomsense · 21/11/2025 00:06

3 bathrooms, one directly above the other 2, it would've been either of those. How awful, their belongings would have been entirely destroyed

Yeah it’s by South Ken/Belgravia/ Knightsbridge that’s an absolute bargain in that location for that many beds!

It looks like this was a probate sale to me. My DFIL's house ( a very tiny fraction of that price ) during probate and sale we had to keep the heating on at 15 degrees during the winter months and have regular physical checks on it ( which lovely neighbours shared in doing.) Also I do recall we had to turn the stop cock off ( I think I'm right there. ) Anyway I think @PigletJohn is right.
I suspect sadly this is a probate sale and no-one has stepped up. My goodness if someone had left that house to me I'd be all over it. But I guess upwards of £2m softens the blow 😊 Of course I'm guessing about probate but just can't think of another reason a house like that would have been left to get into such a state.

I reckon the owners don’t live in the country, they’ve left it empty for ages, had a leak and decided to flog it. It’s likely one of many properties.

Yes, perfect size for me too! And it's all above ground 👍 I really dislike kitchens or bedrooms on the lower ground floor 😬

From the kerbside photo I got the impression there was a basement. But apparently not. I wonder what's behind the railings.

All the front doors shown have an excessive number of locks.
