Tree and telephone wires

Hi all, I’ve got a big tree in my garden desperately needing a prune. Problem is, next doors telephone wires are running through it ( over our garden)
Ive asked on neighbourhood site for quotes but I’m thinking I will need to make sure they have insurance incase they bring the wires down.
if they knock the wires am I liable for any damage?

We had this for years (we were the ones with the phone line) and our neighbour just used to flag it up to whoever was trimming the tree.

They eventually got rid of the tree entirely (it was a rampaging, light blocking conifer so no loss) and it appeared the problem was gone.

Then last year their gardener got a bit carried away wanging his hedge trimmer about like he was in a horror film and whack, cut right through it.

Openreach* came out the next day and fixed it, nobody was charged anything.

*I was quite amazed by this but it's pretty straightforward when you tell them your line's been chopped in two, versus the utter palaver involved with getting faulty/crappy broadband speeds addressed.

All tree surgeons should be insured, it's a dangerous job anyway.

I'm sure they will have dealt with overhead lines before.

Is there space for them to get a cherry picker in? It might be expensive but it sounds necessary.

Thanks everyone.
Theres no room for a cherry picker.
I’ve sent him pictures and he said he doesn’t think it will be a problem as the branches are only thin.
he also said he’s got public liability insurance.
he’s coming in the morning so fingers crossed all goes well.
