Homeless - on the list for property

So I'm in temporary accomandation with 2 kids. Council owes me main housing duty. I just recived email from let's rent requesting documents for affordability check. Anyone had email from them when homeless? Is it standard procedure or that means I'm going to be offered privately rented property?

I was homeless over 20 years ago but I was offered a flat I couldn't afford by a housing charity (it was an hour away from work and I was forced to work for less than minimum wage by job center, my full income was £200pm and the flat alone was £300pm not including bills or food or travel to the job). I had to turn it down as I literally could not take it and then I apparently counted as 'willingly homeless' for turning down a housing option and was taken off all the lists despite the fact it was logistically and financially impossible.

I was homeless for 3 YEARS.

I eventually got a house when I figured out housing benefit and navigating private renting (which is hard with needing deposits and guarantors but easier than dealing with the council). Private renting is the way to go, council housing is like hens teeth and logic doesn't apply to them.

You’d need to contact the housing team to ask for an update on your application, but several local authorities use Let’s Rent to match households on the housing register with selected private landlords and property management companies, yes. Temporary accommodation isn’t ideal and if they don’t have any suitable social housing to allocate to you, they can discharge their housing duty to you by assisting you to find a private rental - in this case with a landlord they’ve pre-approved who is likely offering the property at a rent which will be covered by the LHA or which you meet affordability criteria for.
