Selling a property

More of a whinge of frustration than anything but I'm selling my property. I have a DIP, my house is on the market.

I've found a property I love but I can't do anything as I don't have an offer on my property. I've had viewings, one of the viewers has said they want to offer on my property but need to organise their mortgage.

Surely this is the first thing you do before even viewing - organise your DIP!? Now. I'm sat here with a maybe offer with no idea how long it will take to ogansie with their mortgage advisor.

yes very frustrating. i agree that most sensible people would get a DIP to check how much they can spend before viewing.

they haven't made an offer yet so try to be patient. its a long process.

good luck!

Thanks, still no news. I actually have no idea what they are doing I got a dip is the same day 🐌 it's like they are going at a snails pace and have absolutely no sense of urgency at all. Knowing I have an onward property that is dependant on being proceed able.

In theory, yes, but also it happens sometimes that you aren't really seriously looking, just browsing and then you come across something you'd really like.
Buying and selling is never straightforward.
Yes it's frustrating, but at least they are upfront, which is a good start.
Better than those people that tell you they have the funds in place, but actually don't.

I've not heard of 'DIP' before and can't work out what it stands for, but am presuming it is the same as 'Mortgage in Principle', in which case, it doesn't take that long, in the scheme of things. Meanwhile you can say 'thank you for the offer, but obviously I will continue to market it until you are ready to proceed.'

@RecordBreakers well this is the thing they told the Estate agent they were renting, but it turns out they have a property that they have sold and a mortgage to move. A DIP is a decision in principle, they are all the same thing under different names.
