Concerned about damp wall. Should I get someone to check?

I moved into my bungalow in December 2024.

The survey revealed that the kitchen waste pipe was damaged and needed replacing, which was causing damp in the wall next to it (between the kitchen and bathroom). I got that replaced straight away. Unfortunately, it turns out that some of the bathroom tiles also had cracks in the grout. We think the damp wall was initially caused by the pipe, and then the tiles after I moved in as it was a new bathroom and had never been used before.

I’ve had that fixed now, and the wall is starting to dry out, but I’m worried about the wall's structure. It’s been damp for probably the best part of 2 years, maybe even longer. Should I get someone in to take a look? A structural engineer?

Do not allow anybody who sells silicone injections or magic "damp proof" plaster into your home.

Post some pics, please, inside and outside, the whole wall, including any pipes and drains nearby.

You can dry out a wet wall by setting an ordinary domestic fan (not a fan heater) to blow against it. This causes water to evaporate off the surface like washing hanging on a line. You may find the windows go misty with the moisture in the air, so ventilate it out.
