I’ve been fixing a few things lately on my own as I’m a single skint mum and thought these videos might be useful for others as they’ve helped me..

fixing a cold radiator

fixing a noisy dishwasher

changing spot light bulbs
D

Everyone feel free to share practical DIY videos or instructions you’ve found helpful

Great thread OP. YouTube is such a gift - I think it's saved me thousands over the years!

YouTube tutorials have helped me many times, from filling in a hairline crack to fixing my boiler.

*Disclaimer, 100% do not try to fix gas appliances yourself, call a professional.

Thanks OP, it's always good to have a recommended video rather than a general "visit YouTube".

I recently moved house and one survey problem was soil erosion due to a conservatory downpipe just washing the soil away from the foundations. I managed to create my own soakaway fairly easily which has fully solved my problem for the price of an £80 crate and some downpipe (not actually that easy in hard clay 😄). I watched a lot of videos but this one was by far the best.

I learnt to do tiling, mix concrete, build a (small) wall and mend temporary roof leaks all from YouTube. It’s great
