Thoughts on property near pylon?

Went to look at a house today, hubby absolutely loved it, but when we turned up outside was a massive pylon which explains why the house is still available.

Would you buy a house near a pylon? Not sure if it's far enough away. Worried about noise during rain and we have sensitive hearing. Couldn't hear anything whilst in house, but appreciate weather and times can affect it.

@Doris86 as you go onto the estate you can see the the pylons. The estate on the right is where the house I viewed with the pylon is. It's the one marked with a red house on the map and added blue marks roughly for pylons. (not accurate to scale for the right part of the estate) If you go left the other developer is there, I've circled the house I've seen on another site plan.

I'm not sure if that's enough distance still, or if I should just avoid the estate altogether, or if I'm being silly and it's not actually a problem! There are other estates being built but they are half a mile off a motorway so also not appealing.

If you’re sensitive to noise then definitely don’t consider it.

Pylons are like grave yards, they put people off the house so you can save money when buying, but hinder when selling.
Great way to get a bargain if you aren't fussed.
Not to mention they are more likely to remove them at some point than add new ones, thus making your house more saleable in an instant.
The pylons are maybe 100 times the voltage of the wires in your house, but nearly every floor, wall and ceiling in your house will be crisscrossed with wiring (including bedrooms), so any effect from pylons outside will be completely overwhelmed by the effect of the wires running through the building.

We went up today in the rain and my hubby could hear the hiss and hum and his ears are hurting now. So we have ruled it out as a property for us, hard one when you have sensitive ears, but it's our forever home and needs to be right for us.
