Painting an MDF kitchen - DIY or professional?

Hi all:

Researching kitchens and looking to keep it within a tiny budget. Found that if I buy B&Q-type carcasses, I can buy the doors that I like elsewhere. They come primed, but they'll need to be painted. Something tells me I should leave this job to the professionals, but would love to know how much it's likely to cost. It's a very standard kitchen and would only be about 12 in frame doors or so. Anyone have any suggestions and/or tips for painting it myself?

Thanks!

You can paint them yourself. easy peasy. I would recommend a small roller, like the ones you use to paint behind a radiator. And sand between coats. Choose a tough eggshell paint too.

What colour are you doing them?

I once had my kitchen doors spray painted by car body shop - looked fantastic and only cost about £100 (was a few years ago though). Limitless choice of colours as well.

Thanks to you both! I just want them white with a matte finish - it's nearly impossible to find an actual WHITE kitchen at any of the highstreet vendors.

Interesting LaLa never thought of a car body shop! Might look into it! Thank you both!

repainted my kitchen doors in my rental flat 5 years ago. Used a roller and found it easy. Keep the paint afterwards as its easy for touch ups.

Good luck
