I dont know why my links always come out badly on here, really annoys me

We have wood worktops which are a bit damaged from over the years but I like them over any other material. The draining board is not for actual draining of washing up but we tend to stack things near the sink for 'waiting to go in the dishwasher' as OH loads this and is pernickity about how it goes in. I hate the dishwasher and prefer to wash up by hand

Anyway the gist is, its not for draining as such but to protect the wood. We have a metal board at the moment which overhangs the edge of the sink, its nice and flat, streamlined but I think the cleaner doesnt wait for the worktops to dry before she puts it back and so over time the wood underneath has blown a bit.

One of these was in a holiday cottage we rented once and I wondered whether I should get one

I don't have one but I think it looks really nice and might get one myself! The reviews for it look good, especially if you are looking to use it for stacking rather than draining.

Looks ideal and I am quite interested myself.

What is on the underside, is it completely flat, ribbed, rubber feet etc?

Good question I cant remember from memory

I notice the ones in Plumbworld, Victorian Plumbing and Tapwarehouse are all the same even though they have different names.

Difficult to get a sense of what is best
