Tenement Flat Glasgow..tell me your thoughts

So having rented out my flat in Glasgow for 20 years I reluctantly need to sell it (redundancy incoming...) I haven't had to do anything to it as the Ikea kitchen was all free standing and the bathroom all white and very non offensive. Its floor boards and big rooms..
Anyway the question is what do first time buyers want ( its a trad one bed overlooking a park..I loved that flat) do they want a sparkly new bathroom and kitchen or do they like doing it themselves? It will get a coat of paint and the floorboards cleaned up but really do I need to do anything else?
Thanks just not sure what the market is after as I ripped out the carpets and kitchen way back when I lived there, sanded the floors and painted it..HELP!

What they want is a price that reflects the true value and condition. Price it right, no need to try and guess what people may or may not like.

Depends entirely on the buyer and the price. Most people want a clean, bright and neutral kitchen so they can make their own mark on it if they so choose. Depending on your location tenements are still quite sought after so I don’t imagine you would need to do much.

Freshly painted walls and clean floors will go a long way. I think a free standing kitchen is a massive bonus as new owners can either live with it easily or replace with their own in time - so long as it all still works. Ditto the bathroom. Not a scrap of mould or limescale. Spotless. If any bits can't be made spotless, replace them.

I've never lived in Glasgow - just Edinburgh tenements, but know that most of them are gorgeous and bright. I do have a friend who has a dingy one in Partick though and hers would benefit from lots of white paint and some bright rugs.

No need to spend a fortune, but make it clean and fresh.

Agreed. Price it right and in doing so note that work you don't do costs a fortune now.

Last year our family refurbished 4 bathrooms between us. They cost from £8k (small and already an empty shell of a room) to £14k (a new ensuite room was built for this - new walls and all)

Thanks all. There was a different opinion in London when I sold my flat as the agents told me people just want to move in and do nothing which had never been my experience so was curious what the market thinks now.

Give it a lick of paint to freshen it up and that’s plenty. Tenements sell like hot cakes.
