Hi everybody,

I am planning to renovate my kitchen and I was wondering what is the best layout please to optimise my kitchen and get all the appliances (oven, hub, fridge, dishwasher and sink) to fit nicely while still having some cooking space and storages please. Below is the current plan of my kitchen.

Thank you

What is the room off the kitchen? Any chance of opening up the door wall?

It would be helpful to see the whole ground floor plan @John333

The kitchen of the cottage we purchased last year was 14' x 6'4. We were planning to open it into the adjacent utility and lobby, but ultimately we took the decision to move it into an entirely different space. Not the cheapest option, but we've done it at a previous house and (DIYing) it isn't working out too expensive.

Hello!

Kitchen designer here. I second the request to see the bigger picture of the flat. As it is, I roughtly estimate you have 1200mm in front of kitchen worktop to the wall on the other side. I don't recomment adding anything in front as otherwise it'll feel very small.

You could use a german kitchen brand, normal kitchens (Howdens, wren...) have 720 cupboards. German kitchens have a lower plinth option with a 780mm cabinet, so more storage. Then, using bigger wall units that go all the way to the ceiling to maximise storage is your best bet.

I don't advise having a lot of tall units in it as it's so small. Probably you have space for a tall fridge freezer at the end of sink wall and that's it.

Obviously if you can turn the kitchen into an open plan setting then maybe there would be a bit more room to play.

What's on the side? is it a store/cupboard? if so, you could take the wall down to extend the room and make kitchen area bigger.
