Just got back from my mums after leaving the plasterer here for 9 hours to find he has only done the ceiling and one wall - this is the 5th whole day (of 2 x 11 hours, 2 x 10 and todays 9 hours) it has dragged on, and next week his partner is coming to do the coving - but obviously it'll be spread over 2 10 odd hour days now as 2 walls are not finished off. So, in 61 hours of labour time (his partner came last weekend to faff about for a full days pay) I have had a living/dining room bonded ( sort of backing plaster), most walls plastered and the ceiling, spotlights put in and a light fitting changed for a new one - does that sound right? Said like that it doesn't sound so bad, but I really can't understand how it takes 9 hours to skim a 3m x3m ceiling and one wall. Someone reassure me that it really does take forever to do up a house
