Fitted wipeable table cover/plastic with corners - square - bit like a shower cap for a table

Is there such a thing?

I dont want a big roll of clear table cover which is all Ive found on googling. I dont want a table cloth that hangs over the sides, I want something that is sort of like a square shower cap but for a table, so it just fits over, with elasticated edges to pull it in?

Does this exist?

I’ve got this

It was from Wipe easy tablecloths

Look for the “box corners” add on option, you have to give them the dimensions of your table, maybe add 10cm, can’t remember but instructions are clear on the website.

it’s brilliant - our oilcloth fits perfectly, no budging, no clips, no rolling up edges to catch crumbs

Thank you very much, this is exactly what I need

Link here

the box corners option is a bit hard to find, under Accessories and then Optional Extras but link above should show it

Yes theyve got pictures of the box corners when you click on the question mark, brilliant design

I know right?? I’m surprised they don’t advertise it more up front on their website, it’s so good

soupyspoon · 31/08/2025 11:49

But now I have to limit myself to just order the one

Is that right?

Or do you think I could order several.....

AIBU?

Actually Ive just seen the price of the finished product!

One it is!

😆 I wouldn’t bother ordering several as they last forever! Unless you want a change of look.

You can get samples of the oilcloths sent to you too if struggling to choose. Some of the more “lineny” ones are matte and harder to clean iirc.

Hold on

I do actually need to order 2 though. One for when the table is small and one for when the table is extended.

I'd love a fitted tablecloth .
So glad you started this thread OP.

Buy the oilcloth and, as previously suggested, sew to make a fitted cover. Oilcloth is fine on a sewing machine, just use a “leather” needle. Having made a motorcycle seat cover some years back I know this should work.

Ours is fairly rarely extended, only when we have guests and we wouldn’t want an oilcloth on it then… we use a regular tablecloth instead
The oilcloth is more to protect against the kids’ artwork!!

The first one is not available but the second one is, its a serious contender because its cheap!

I've got one from jolee tablecloths. Stops DD pulling it off! Think it cost about 70 quid.

My kitchen table is perfectly functional for a family of 4 and is 77 cm wide. 145 cm long + extensions.

My other tip for a cheap alternative is a shower curtain! Hear me out - if you get a washable one you just fix it using table cloth clips (or even bulldog clips) and bung it in the washing machine as needed. If it’s for more robust activity like painting I got a thicker plastic one which I would just hang it up to dry and occasionally wipe it.
