When will council let me move in?

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I went to view a council property last Thursday and agreed to take it on. I've still heard nothing back from the council. I called on Monday and the woman said I wasn't verified but that I'd still be moving in. They have all my documents and ID. I am confused. I am disabled and was looking forward to going into a better suited property. If any of you have been rehoused by the council how long from viewing date did you move in?

Thanks

It depends how much work the property needs. If it's in good repair it won't take as long. Does it need adapting to suit your needs?

No it's pristine condition but they haven't even got back to me to collect the keys. Just keep saying it will happen we are verifying. I'm born here. I have all my id so I'm like what lol.

I expect it will still have to be inspected and signed off that everything is in good order.
Enjoy once you get your key's.👍😁

I was awarded a council property and it took at least 10 weeks before getting the keys. Apparently in that time they'd had to rip everything out from previous tenant and put a new bathroom in. I wasn't in a position not to accept it, so my viewing was a couple of weeks before getting keys. They went through all of my documents again with what felt like a fine tooth comb back at council office. It was so stressful on top of what turned in to a 2 year process with them telling me to stay put in my rental etc (I'd been there 10 years!) then a year homeless with 2 children.

It all sounds fine, the wheels of local government don't exactly rush for anyone.
It won't be long. Congratulations on your new home! ❤️
