Getting a mortgage with 2 missed payments from 2020

Hi, just after some advice really, I currently rent my property and me and my husband are now financially able to buy.
My landlord is willing to sell at slightly below market value of 110k. Our deposit is 11k and me and my husband bring home 55k per year between us not including bonuses.
The issue I've found is my husbands credit rating is great with no issues however I have 2 missed payments from a finance car from 2020 however this was paid off 3 years ago. We have a car on finance with 4k left and a credit card that's paid fully monthly but no other debt besides phones etc.
What are the chances if being able to get a mortgage with these issues? Thanks for any advice.

There will definitely be options, though you may need a specialist lender and/or be offered a slightly higher rate. My recommendation would be to go through a broker who can advise you of your best lender options.

2 missed payments back in 2020 will not be an issue at all

Lollipop2025 · 17/08/2025 07:57

It won't be an issue at all.

Shouldn't be an issue at all!

Definitely use a broker to search the market and get a good deal for you.

No issue - you will be fine!
