What would you do with this house?

Please help, wise mumsnetters. I love the inside of this house. It needs updating but its rooms are huge and it ticks many boxes.

My husband hates the outside. He says it has no curb appeal and will be impossible to sell. I can see it is a strange house, from the outside.

I think we could change a few things and make it better but my creativity has left me.

Any ideas very gratefully received. I am out for the next few hours, so won’t be able to reply straight away.

NO!
'Georgian bar window' should only be on Georgian style houses, not on 1980/90s houses.

But do dig up the car park and have a 'proper' front garden.

I agree - if OP wants Georgian windows she needs to buy a different house. I think as a general principal, 'working with what you have got' is better than trying to turn a circle into a square.

I think the outside just needs some greenery and a new driveway.
If I was going to do anything internally I'd try and get another shower in as one full bathroom for a 4 bed house isn't really enough. In the name of modern living I'd probably put a wall between the living room and dining room and then knock through from the kitchen to dining room to make an open plan kitchen dinner and have french or bifold doors into the garden. You could probably then get a utility / shower room in on the righthand side, accessed from the back door and maybe incorporate the cupboard under the stair. Then the current toilet becomes a big walk in shoe / coat / storage cupboard.

If it was at all possible I would move the front door to the front and add an attractive canopy or porch. Maybe a hanging basket?

At the very least I would break up the concrete and put 'running strips' between the parking spaces so that there is some greenery. I wouldn't plant grass, instead I'd place low maintenance low level plants, such as vinca or 'snow in summer' and the like.
