What tools do I need for this job?

I ideally want to remove this laminate floor tile without removing the worktop leg. To do this I need to cut a neat circle around the base of the worktop leg. What tool can I do that with? There is wooden board underneath, which I don't want to damage.

How thick is the tile?

The leg will be screwed under the worktop - just take it off and remove the tile. The leg will have a screw to make it taller or shorter - it will be fine

About 1cm, maybe a bit less.

We've done this now, and managed to get the tile out. The leg doesn't have a screw to make it longer, but we've put something underneath to support it.

The bigger problem now is the tile under the toilet. We thought it might just slide out but it seems not. Any advice?

You might find the toilet is screwed to the floor, behind the silver cap on the side of the toilet should be a screw into a plastic ‘L’ bracket, the other leg of the bracket will be screwed to the floor. It’s a toilet out job I’m afraid, not a big job if you can isolate the water at the bottom of the cistern.

The toilet is likely screwed either side. Unscrew. Switch off water supply. Flush to empty cistern, it shouldn’t refill. Remove water from the toilet pan using a small bowl or cup, get as much out as possible. Disconnect cistern from toilet. Unscrew cistern and remove. Disconnect toilet waste pipe from toilet (likely just a push fit) rubber connector. Remove toilet.
