Recommended Kitchen cupboard storage on a budget

We have just ordered a kitchen blowing the budget on fancy work surface for me and a Quooker tap that DH wants.

I also wanted some fancy kitchen design gadgetry but that is out now.

What I would like is large pull down spice rack for one of the upper cupboards as we have a lot of spices and its hard to find anything quickly if cooking.

We will also have two big draws for the first time ever its over 20 years since we had a new kitchen below the hob (but unsure what is best to keep in them)?

Ideally, I would have liked more draws but was out voted. A lot of people with various pull out devices in cupboards on spendy and American Insta pages so you can see and access things at the back of the cupboards easily. Any budget or low cost solutions for this please?

Anything else anyone would recommend that I could add to gradually?

For easy access to spices etc when i am cooking, i have a shelf next to the hob, about halfway between the worktop and the cupboards.

Thanks all ideally would like to avoid leaving too much out on the work surface if possible. We got a rotating spice rack for a wedding present many years ago and used that for a few years.

My sister has an all drawer kitchen and has a huge range of herbs and spices. She decants them into flatpack ziplock bags that look like little mason jars and then has them filed in alphabetical order in a long tray.

Yes unfortunately we only have two big draws in the whole kitchen so the spices need to go in an upper cupboard.

We too have drawers (not draws) beneath the hob. Top drawer is cutlery with build in divider trays, middle drawer is bigger cooking tools, tea towels, foil/Clingfilm all in baskets bought from IKEA, bottom drawer contains all my pans.
Dont bother with the pull down spice thingy - it’ll just be an annoyance and likely break after a few months use - my spices are in another IKEA box in a cupboard so I can easily pull the whole box out when I need one. I also have pull out rubbish bins from IKEA under the sink.

Put them in a lower cupboard in an internal drawer which you can buy. We have two in a lower cupboard, then a gap over a shelf which neatly takes foil etc. The top inner drawer has all the spices in little pots perfectly lined up in A-Z order.

Who ever outvoted you for more drawers is an idiot, sorry.

I have all my spices in a drawer. I stick little colour coded labels on the lids so very easy to see what is what from above.
I guess you can replicate it in a box and store that in a cupboard….

Apologies for my spelling error/errors.

Thanks will look at IKEA. As we will only be having one set of two large draws (sited directly under the hob). I was thinking if someone else wanted a teaspoon or a knife whilst I am cooking at the hob or if a miracle happened and someone else was actually going to lay the table then the cutlery might be more accessible if kept in the other smaller draws on the peninsular and closer to the dining table and coffee machine. But unsure yet.

Lots of the fancy interior fittings can be bought separately and retrofitted e.g. https://www.kitchenfittingsdirect.com/gb/
I'd spend the bare minimum on storage now and save up for the fittings which will make your kitchen more usable and enjoyable in the long term.

I’ve got some spices in a rack fixed to the inside of a wall cupboard door.

Drawers. Sorry, but this does bug me.
We keep our spices and herbs in a drawer, works really well.
What about just in a plastic storage box, the Really Useful Company have many sizes, and very easy to pull out on to a worktop when needed.
