Hi all

we have been in the rollercoaster madness of trying to move in London - after months and months we now have two options

House A - charming, period terraced house. Needs a kitchen extension which will be a pain but main annoyance is that it has a north facing garden. The area is ‘up and coming’

House B - terraced townhouse is in a typically better area than house A and we were all set to go with it until I realised that a Probation House / Approved premises is a block up and round the corner - basically a 3 minute walk.

Which would you go for? Or neither?! I’m very worried about resale.

Thank you!!!

*in case you didn’t know, like me - An approved premise, also known as an Approved Premises (AP) or probation hostel, is a residential facility that provides intensive supervision and support for high-risk offenders released from prison on license or those on bail or community sentences. These premises serve as a "halfway house" between prison and the community, aiming to support rehabilitation, reduce re-offending, and enhance public safety

I have a north facing back garden and it’s really sunny!

I don't know anything about the second house issue, but I'd personally be wary of the concept of "up and coming" in London nowadays. Places tend to get discovered and gentrified when people get priced out of "better" areas, but property prices in London are being reported as falling now so I would think the risk is that the "up and coming" areas could go the other way and become less desirable.
