Recommendations for companies for replacement kitchen doors

We’ve just moved into a new house and the kitchen is def looking a little tired and worn. I’m considering seeing if we can get the doors replaced - and maybe the sink - to freshen it up as the tiles and flooring are all good. I’d love any recommendations for companies people have used or any top tips of what to think about or what to avoid. I’ve got DIY kitchens on the list, especially as we could get a cupboard to house the ugly boiler in through them - and Kitchen Magic.

I cannot emphasise enough how impractical DH and I are so we’d def want a fitter to help out! Is it easy enough to replace a sink in an existing worktop? Our current one isn’t amazing but I think is fine with a nice new ceramic sink.

We used Dream doors and they were brilliant. They did our flooring and worktops as well, but you can just have your doors done if you want. They could also do your sink, and yes - it is possible to replace a sink in an existing worktop.

I just used Better Kitchens as I had to replace a v old kitchen on a budget following an underfloor leak. They are like DIY kitchens so came full assembled and were v easy to fit (had my general handyman do it). Very good quality and came in even lower than DIY kitchens. The delivery man was lovely and we had no issues at all.

What I will say, when the kitchen started to be dismantled, loads of other problems emerged and I think you will be better off replacing the worktop it you can. I also now have pan drawers, spice drawers and lots of deep drawers instead of cupboards and it so less cluttered.

We looked around and ordered the worktop separately and it was not too expensive. i got some lovely mexican tiles for a splashback on Etsy. Same with the sink and appliances (ours came with the old kitchen when I moved in 17 years ago so definitely needed to go)! This way I found things in sales/on offer or returns so it was affordable. Enjoy planning your kitchen. I out up with my old dated kitchen for too long and the new one changes how I feel about the whole house.

Thanks @willstarttomorrow- another name to investigate! Really helpful to know re worktop.

In an ideal world I would love to replace some units as we moved from a kitchen with lovely pan drawers and pull out storage to the most basic shelves and drawers which aren’t great but we don’t have the budget to do the whole thing and I am not sure we can change just the odd individual unit. I shall investigate….

You might also want to consider getting the doors resprayed rather than replacing them, there are plenty of local tradesmen that respray kitchens.

@CryMeARiverSong I feel your pain! We moved into our place with "tired" units a few years ago and honestly, just changing the doors makes such a massive difference to your sanity.
Have you looked at Doorfinder? We used them because, like you, we didn't have the budget for a total overhaul but I couldn't face the old dated cupboards anymore.
They are really helpful if you’re a bit clueless about measuring (guilty!). What I liked was that they do bespoke sizes—handy if you’ve got an odd-sized boiler housing or want to swap out just one or two units like you mentioned.
If your DH is impractical (mine is the same, bless him!), you’ll still need a local fitter, but Doorfinder can pre-drill the hinge holes for you which makes the fitter's job much quicker and cheaper. The quality is actually lovely—doesn't feel like a "cheap" fix at all.
Definitely worth a look alongside Kitchen Magic. It's usually a fair bit cheaper since you aren't paying for the big showroom overheads. Good luck with the ceramic sink—it’ll look gorgeous! x
