I am a bag of nerves and hadn't realised how impatient I am. Selling our first home and I expected to have had more activity by now. We've had 1 viewing, loads of advert clicks, but that's it. Can anyone offer constructive feedback?

No kerb appeal, too much concrete and no shrubs or grass.
Red living room. Yikes.
Photos not in the right order. Why can't estate agents get this basic detail right?

Purple Bricks would put me off immediately. The bathroom has no bath, which a family would likely be looking for. Could you tone down the red and green paint, it makes the rooms look smaller.

Not the point of the thread, but I love your sofas OP

DrySherry · 30/07/2025 09:56

It's a nice enough property in apparently good condition - it will sell (even through purple bricks) but not at that price. It needs to be priced around 325 to 330k to really start getting interest imo.

Purplebricks isn’t the best
its summer holidays so people aren’t looking at houses
No bath would be an instant no for me
the leaded windows - personally I hate them and they really age the house
the feature walls but I would be able to see past them

Thanks all - I didn't expect so much constructive feedback, insanely helpful! Yes we regret going with Purplebricks, but want to give them a chance now so will wait a little to see what happens! I promise the red isn't as bad in real life 😅 the colour just looks a bit insane in that photo. I will keep you all posted xx

I wouldn’t touch anything marketed by Purplebricks .

user1471538283 · 02/08/2025 13:12

It will be the price. The market is slow at the moment but so many properties in our city are overpriced.

I would also never again try to engage with Purple bricks. I just couldn't even get a viewing!

fiorentina · 02/08/2025 13:19

Near us Purple Bricks has a crap reputation as an agent and weren’t great when my MIL bought via them in another area.

My feedback as others say is that the photos were maybe taken on a dark day as all lights are on but it implies it’s not a bright and airy house. I’d try and add some large impactful plants in nice pots front and back to improve the garden and kerb appeal.

It looks well maintained and clean and buyers can repaint as they wish if they don’t like the bright colours.

Loubylie · 03/08/2025 05:54

Don't wait and 'give Purple Bricks a chance'. Give them notice today that you're not using them (there is presumably a notice period) and find a good local agent to sell your house once you're free to do do.
