Kitchen upgrade advice

Hi,

I have a vinyl wrapped kitchen that needs updating. The carcass of the kitchen is fine and im planning to move within the next 2 years so dont want to spend too much. Im assuming needs:
New doors and panel
Removing one cabinet and adding in one new cabinet
New integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher. New tap and extractor
New flooring throughout
Removing a couple wall cabinets to replace for shelves.
Im not handy at all, so cant do much of this myself.
I've had a quote for a brand new kitchen which came up at 10k plus labour, that was just for the kitchen units and appliances, but mainly did this for an idea of the design of how it could look. Im really looking to spend around 5k but I dont know if this is possible!
I have a plumber/kitchen guy coming next week to quote for all these things, so mainly asking for advice on where to buy all the things ill need for it or if there is a good way to go about this?

Do you know where the kitchen comes from? You should be able to buy replacement doors, which should be loads cheaper?

Unless it’s a very old kitchen, most cabinets and kitchen carcasses are manufactured in standard dimensions nowadays - measure yours and then look at e.g. the Ikea and Wickes websites to see if they have doors and facings in the same sizes. A joiner or good handyman will easily be able to do the replacement cabinets and hanging shelves; the latter will also be able to fit new flooring, tap and extractor. You can usually pay a fee to the store you get the appliances from to disconnect old and connect new and take the old ones away. Depending on the spec of flooring and appliances you choose, it shouldn’t come anywhere close to £5K.

Thank you both!
Im trying to work out where the kitchen is from, I feel it might be ikea so a bit more investigating is needed.
However all the trims/panels are also needing replacement, so around the edges of the cabinets, how can this be done, if you know?
Im finding it stressful as I have so little knowledge of this stuff so it feels very overwhelming

Have you thought about having what's there resprayed? This company are very well established and can deal with vinyl wrapped doors. Loads of photos on their FB page. https://www.facebook.com/share/1ByTFubGTv/

You can remove the vinyl wrap & paint the MDF underneath. Did it with wardrobes & they came out fab.

I had a specific company that did mild kitchen refreshes like this, called maybe dream doors or something. They replaced all the cupboard doors and drawer fronts and put new handles on, but left the carcasses of the cabinets, replaced the end panels so they matched the new doors, replaced the base board/kick boards, took a cabinet out and we bought a wine fridge from AO which slotted into the gap then they added a baseboard to that to match the cabinet doors so it looked built in. We have a large kitchen I would say (4 bed detached home, space for an island - not bragging but to give an idea of scale!!) It cost us 4.5k including them coming, fitting it all and taking away all the old fronts and side panels. There were a few specific companies that do this, some can also cover old worktops in granite sleeves. Saves replacing the whole thing. Or you can definitely just buy doors if you've standard measurements, try howdens, IKEA, b and q maybe and a handyman should be able to fit neatly for you if you don't want to do yourself.

I had my very tatty kitchen spray painted by a company last year (they cover nationwide) They removed some of the vinyl too and sprayed over the gloss units. That came and did in on site in one day. It looks amazing. PM me if you want their details. I have a fairly large kitchen and it costs me around £1200 including their travel, paint and changing the door handles (I supplied these)

Thanks everyone, lots for me to look into. Will chat over with my kitchen guy when he comes and see what he thinks. Respray is defo a good idea, but lots of doors and the in-between bits could do with a bit of fixing too. Also had dream doors do a quote a few months ago and it came in at 10k! Found them really unfriendly and uninterested in the business, and told them I was looking for an affordable solution!
